Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information MyHouseBar collects, how we use it, and your rights. Please read it carefully.

1. Who We Are

MyHouseBar ("we", "our", "us") operates the website and app at myhousebar.app — a personal cocktail bar management platform. For any privacy-related questions, contact us at privacy@myhousebar.app.

2. Information We Collect

Account information

  • Email address and password (managed securely by Supabase Auth)
  • Display name and profile photo (optional)
  • Bar name, tagline, and bio
  • Subscription status (free, pro, or business)

Content you create

  • Drinks: names, descriptions, ingredients, steps, glassware, ratings, and photos
  • Bar bottles and pantry stock levels
  • Favourites tagged by person name
  • Messages and group conversations with friends
  • Drink requests sent to or from friends
  • Feedback messages and star ratings you submit through the in-app feedback tool

Beta program data

  • Beta invite code used at signup (used to track which channel referred you — e.g. Reddit, Twitter)
  • Email address and optional name if you join the waitlist before receiving an invite
  • Onboarding feedback and star rating submitted on the welcome screen

Automatically collected data

  • IP address, browser type, device type, and operating system
  • Pages visited, features used, and time spent in the app
  • Push notification subscription tokens (stored to deliver notifications you have opted into)
  • Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see Section 5)

Payment information

  • We do not store card numbers or banking details. Payments are processed entirely by Stripe. We receive only your subscription status and a Stripe customer ID.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • Provide, operate, and improve the app and its features
  • Generate AI-powered cocktail recipes and images using your inputs (e.g. ingredients you describe)
  • Send transactional emails: account confirmation, password reset, and security notices
  • Send marketing and re-engagement emails, such as drink recommendations or feature updates — you can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email or by contacting privacy@myhousebar.app
  • Deliver push notifications for social activity (friend requests, messages, drink requests) — only when you have granted permission
  • Process subscription payments and manage your plan via Stripe
  • Display relevant advertising to free-tier users (see Section 4)
  • Measure app performance and usage trends through analytics
  • Respond to feedback you submit and use it to improve the product

4. Advertising

Free-tier users may see ads served by Google AdSense. Google may use cookies and device identifiers to show personalized ads based on your browsing behavior across sites. You can manage your ad preferences at g.co/adsettings or opt out of personalized advertising at optout.aboutads.info.



We also use the Meta Pixel (Facebook Pixel) on our website to measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns and to reach potential users on Meta platforms. This means Meta may receive information about pages you visit on myhousebar.app. You can manage your Meta ad preferences at facebook.com/ads/preferences.



We display native sponsored content clearly labeled "Sponsored." These are paid placements and do not affect your drink data or bar content.

5. Cookies & Tracking

Essential cookies

  • Authentication session tokens required to keep you logged in.

Analytics cookies

  • Google Analytics — helps us understand how the app is used (pages, features, retention). Data is aggregated and anonymized.

Advertising cookies

  • Google AdSense — used to serve and measure ads for free-tier users.
  • Meta Pixel — used to measure ad campaign performance and build audiences for marketing.

Local storage

  • We store preferences (e.g. dismissed banners, theme, last visit) in your browser's localStorage. This data never leaves your device.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies will prevent you from signing in.

6. Shared & Public Content

When you post a drink to the Feed, that content is visible to your friends within the app. If you share your bar's public link, anyone with the link can view your bar name, bio, and drink menu — no account required. You can remove a post or set your bar to private at any time.



Messages you send to friends or groups are stored securely and are only accessible to you and the recipients.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the following service providers, who process it on our behalf under data processing agreements:

8. Data Retention

We retain your account and content data for as long as your account is active. Push notification tokens are deleted when you uninstall the app or revoke permission. Email unsubscribe preferences are stored indefinitely to honor your opt-out. You may request deletion of your account and personal data at any time by emailing privacy@myhousebar.app — we will process your request within 30 days.

9. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
  • Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Deletion — request that we delete your personal data
  • Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
  • Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests (including direct marketing)
  • Restriction — ask us to limit how we process your data in certain circumstances
  • Withdraw consent — where we rely on consent (e.g. marketing emails, push notifications), you can withdraw it at any time

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@myhousebar.app. We will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

10. California Residents (CCPA / CPRA)

California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), including 2026 updates:



• Right to Know: You may request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources of that information, our business or commercial purposes for collecting it, and the third parties we share it with.



• Right to Delete: You may request deletion of personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain legal exceptions.



• Right to Correct: You may request correction of inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.



• Right to Opt Out of Sharing: We do not sell personal information. We do use advertising cookies and the Meta Pixel, which may constitute "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising under CCPA. To opt out, use your browser's cookie controls, enable Global Privacy Control (GPC) in your browser, or contact us at privacy@myhousebar.app. We will honor opt-out requests submitted via GPC signals.



• Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information: We do not use sensitive personal information for purposes beyond those permitted under CCPA without your consent.



• Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights.



• Automated Decision-Making: We use AI to generate personalised cocktail recipes based on your bottle inventory. This does not constitute automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects. You may contact us at any time to request that a recipe be generated without AI personalisation.



• Opt-Out Confirmation: When you submit an opt-out request, we will confirm in writing within 15 days that your request has been processed.



To submit any CCPA/CPRA request, email privacy@myhousebar.app with the subject line "CCPA Request." We will respond within 45 days (with one possible 45-day extension if reasonably necessary).

11. Children & Age Requirement

MyHouseBar is an alcohol-related application intended for users aged 21 and over, or the legal drinking age in your jurisdiction, whichever is higher. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact privacy@myhousebar.app and we will delete the account promptly.

12. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption for all data in transit, hashed and salted passwords managed by Supabase Auth, row-level security policies on our database so users can only access their own data, and restricted service-role API keys that never reach the client. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

13. International Transfers

Our service providers are primarily located in the United States. If you are accessing MyHouseBar from the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or other regions with data transfer restrictions, please be aware that your data is transferred to and processed in the US. We rely on standard contractual clauses and provider data processing agreements to safeguard these transfers.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify you by email or via an in-app notice at least 14 days before the changes take effect. The effective date at the top of this page will always reflect the latest version. Continued use of the app after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
